DA bans FMD-susceptible animals from Trkiye

MANILA: The Department of Agriculture (DA) on Tuesday announced a temporary ban on importing foot-and-mouth diseases (FMD)-susceptible animals, products, and by-products from the Republic of Trkiye following a reported FMD outbreak in cattle in Cugun, Merkez, Kirsehir on Sept. 9. Shellfish ban up in 10 Eastern Visayas bays

Shellfish ban are up in 10 areas in Eastern Visayas this week, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) said on Tuesday. In its advisory, the BFAR said the red tide was detected in the seawater samples collected in the coastal waters of Leyte, Leyte, and Calbayog City in Samar province, based on the latest sampling. MIAA abolishes 844 plantilla posts amid NAIA privatization

MANILA: The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), former operator of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), on Tuesday abolished 844 plantilla positions following the airport’s privatization.
