Bursa Malaysia Opens Lower On Mild Selling In Key Sectors

KUALA LUMPUR, Bursa Malaysia opened lower today, extending yesterday’s losses amid mild selling in plantation, consumer products and services counters, according to an analyst. At 9.15 am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) fell 2.91 points to 1,646.0, down from Monday’s close of 1,648.91. The benchmark index had initially opened 1.49 points lower at 1,647.42. Across the broader market, decliners slightly outpaced advancers, with 221 stocks declining versus 194 advancing. There were 307 counters unchanged, 1,697 untraded, and six suspended. FBM KLCI Futures Mixed At Opening

KUALA LUMPUR, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures traded mixed on Tuesday’s opening. At 9.30 am, October 2024 and March 2025 contracts slipped 1.50 points each to 1,652.0 and 1,643.5, respectively, while November 2024 gained 3.5 points to 1,657.0 and December 2024 increased by 0.5 of-a-point to 1,659.5.
