MKI Committee To Provide Legal View On GISBH, States To Decide On Fatwa – Mohd Na’im

KOTA BHARU, The Muzakarah Committee of the National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs Malaysia (MKI Fatwa Committee) will only issue legal opinions regarding GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH) and not a fatwa, says Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar. He said that the fatwa related to GISBH would be determined by each state according to their own jurisdiction. GISBH’s Business Operations Nationwide Crippled Amidst Police Action

KUALA LUMPUR, Business activities involving GlSB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH) in the country are believed to have come to a halt following a series of large-scale raids conducted by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) under Op Global phases 1 to 4, which commenced early this month. During these operations, PDRM froze 138 bank accounts belonging to GISBH, seizing over RM800,000 in funds. A total of 22 vehicles valued at about RM1.87 million and 14 properties were also seized, severely affecting the company’s operations.
