Nograles vows to further improve civil service after CSC budget OK’d

Manila: Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Karlo Nograles on Tuesday expressed full optimism that the CSC will be on track to sustain its gains and further improve its various programs for the coming year after Congress approved its proposed PHP1 billion 2025 budget without any hitches. C. Visayas LGUs urged to pass protected areas conservation ordinance

An official of the Regional Development Council (RDC-7) on Tuesday said local government units (LGUs) in Central Visayas should pass ordinances adopting stringent requirements before approving permits for development in protected areas. Kenneth Cobonpue, co-chair of the RDC-7, said the body is initiating the adoption of more stringent measures to ensure the sustainable use and development of resources in all 24 protected areas spread across the Central Visayas region. He said the provincial governments of Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor should adopt measures requiring municipalities and component cities whose territory has existing protected areas to strengthen Special Use Agreements.

DOST chief thanks admin for hike in R&D budget

Manila: Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. on Tuesday thanked the Marcos administration for the support and increase in the budget for research and development (R and D) for 2025. 4PH program targets to build over 10K housing units in Ilocos

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) targets to finish the construction of 10,342 vertical housing units in the Ilocos Region under the Pambansang Pabahay ng Pangulo Program (4PH) by the second quarter of 2025. Bulk of the housing units will be in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte at 2,600 units and followed by the 2,560 in Urdaneta City; 2,412 in Malasiqui town; 1,600 in San Fabian town; 882 in Alaminos City; and 288 in Asingan town, all in Pangasinan. The number of units allocated to a locality depends on the figure submitted by the local government unit (LGU)

NDA boosts agri efforts via youth education

Manila: The National Dairy Authority (NDA) on Tuesday said it is strengthening efforts to increase youth participation in the agricultural sector in line with the goals of the administration of President Ferdinand R.
