Thunderstorm, Heavy Rain Warning For Several States

KUALA LUMPUR, The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds, expected to affect several states until 6 pm today. In a statement, MetMalaysia said the warnings cover Perlis and Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena and Padang Terap in Kedah. It is also expected to affect Kuching, Sri Aman and Sarikei (Pakan and Julau) in Sarawak, as well as Telupid, Kinabatangan and Beluran in Sandakan, Sabah. Source: BERNAMA News Agency

Northern Floods: Over 5,000 Hectares Of Rice Crops Affected, RM32 Million Loss

PUTRAJAYA, A total of 5,822.59 hectares of rice crops in the northern states have been affected by flooding, with an estimated loss of RM32 million in rice yield. Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said that his ministry will provide post-disaster assistance to affected farmers, livestock breeders, and fishermen, through a coordinated effort.
