In a statement on Wednesday, DPWH-5 Regional Director Virgilio Eduarte said the 320-meter flood control project shields a populated area of Barangay Tabi from the destructive impact of seasonal flooding. ‘Before the project’s completion, typhoon and monsoon rains would cause the overflow of the river in the area, freely flooding adjacent riverside and agricultural lands.
