KOTA KINABALU, The Sabah Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin and his wife, Toh Puan Norlidah R.M Jasni, arrived at Padang Merdeka here tonight to attend the Malaysia Day 2024 celebration. Juhar and his wife were greeted on arrival at 8.30 pm by Malaysia Day 2024 Celebration Main Committee chairman Fahmi Fadzil, who is also the Communications Minister, and co-chairman Datuk Christina Liew, who is also the Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister. KUALA LUMPUR, A strong earthquake, measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale, struck the Mariana Islands region at 7.36 pm today. KUALA PERLIS, A ferry that ran aground after hitting a sandbank while carrying 567 passengers from Kuala Perlis to Langkawi at 2.30pm today, safely continued the trip to Langkawi tonight. ALOR SETAR, A motorcyclist was injured after a tree fell and hit him in an incident along Jalan Alor Setar-Kangar in Ayer Hitam near Jitra today.
