King, Queen Grace Maulidur Rasul Celebration

PUTRAJAYA, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and Her Majesty Queen Raja Zarith Sofiah are attending the 2024/1446H National-Level Maulidur Rasul Celebration at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) here. Their Majesties arrived at 9.32 am and were welcomed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail. LYON, Malaysia concluded the WorldSkills Competition (WSC 2024) with an outstanding performance, securing one bronze medal and four Medallion for Excellence awards in the prestigious event. Over 280 Left Homeless As Fire Destroys 44 Houses In Tongod

TONGOD, A fire last night destroyed 44 houses in Kampung Penangah, leaving 282 people from 74 families homeless. The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operation Centre said that an emergency call was received at 7.24 pm and the firefighters arrived at the scene at 11.30 pm due to the remote location of the incident. The fire affected an area of 1.21 hectares, with the houses built too close together. ‘All of the affected houses were completely destroyed. Firefighters used open water sources to extinguish the flames. Fortunately, no casualties were reported,’ it said in a statement. It added that

296 Illegal Immigrants Arrested From January To Aug 31 – GOF

KOTA BHARU, The General Operations Force (GOF) Tenggara Brigade arrested 296 illegal immigrants during operations dubbed ‘Op Taring Wawasan’ conducted from January to Aug 31 this year. Its commander Datuk Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid said that among those arrested, 226 were men and the remainder were women. ‘All of them, aged 17 to 60, were apprehended after entering the country through an illegal entry point along Sungai Golok near the Malaysia-Thai border. ‘The breakdown of nationalities includes 201 Myanmar nationals, 51 from Bangladesh, 24 from Thailand, eight from India, five Rohingyas, four from Indonesia, and three from Pakistan,’
