KUALA PILAH, The Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Department (JHEAINS) has sealed two houses being used as an unregistered madrasah housing 40 male children aged between 10 and 12 years old, located in a village near here. JHEAINS Enforcement Unit head, Ahmad Zaki Hamzah said the action was taken following reports of alleged sexual misconduct involving residents of the facility, with inspections conducted at the premises on Sept 6. BINTULU, More than 350 people were left homeless when fire destroyed a 23-door longhouse in Sungai Labang, Sebauh today. However, no casualties were reported. A spokesperson for the Operations Centre of the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said the blaze completely destroyed the wooden longhouse which was about 30 metres by 100 metres in size. He said that firemen from the Bintulu and Samalaju fire and rescue stations were dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 3.23 pm. The fire was brought under control at 5 pm. KUALA LUMPUR, UNICEF has commended the Royal Malaysia Police and other national authorities for their action and coordination in rescuing 402 children from various welfare homes in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.
