2 NPA leaders killed in Samar clash

TACLOBAN CITY – Two leaders of the New People’s Army (NPA) were killed in a clash when they fired upon patrolling policemen in Jiabong, Samar on Wednesday. Zamboangueños cautioned against dengue

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The local government has warned residents to be vigilant and implement dengue-prevention measures amid the rising cases of the disease here. Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, city health officer, said Thursday that while there is no outbreak, dengue local cases have continued to increase, with already nine deaths and 505 cases since January this year. Miravite said statistical trends also indicate that dengue outbreaks occur every two to three years. Anti-drug cops arrest ‘pastor’ with P14-M ‘shabu’

CEBU CITY – The police arrested Wednesday night a “pastor”, who is linked to a drug personality killed in a shootout in Bohol in 2016, during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Duljo-Fatima here after he yielded some PHP14-million worth of substance believed to be shabu. SC upholds CA power to review ERC rulings

MANILA – The Supreme Court (SC) has denied a company’s petition questioning the Court of Appeals (CA) ruling on a case decided by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
