1.1M Daily Wage Earners in NCR to Receive PHP60 Increase on Sept. 26

Manila: Minimum wage earners in the National Capital Region (NCR) are set to receive a PHP60 daily wage increase, effective Sept. 26. In a news release, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced that Wage Order NCR-28, published on Friday, will take effect after 15 days, raising the minimum wage for non-agricultural workers from PHP695 to PHP755 and for agricultural workers from PHP658 to PHP718.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board - NCR issued the wage order following the established tripartite wage-setting process. DOLE has reminded employers to comply with the new wage rates once they take effect, assuring workers that the department will monitor the implementation.

The salary adjustment is expected to benefit approximately 1.1 million daily wage earners in Metro Manila, based on DOLE data. This wage increase reflects President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s commitment to improving workers' purchasing power and promoting inclusive economic growth.
