A total of 305 patients in Soccsksargen have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) as of Friday night, the regional health office here reported.
“This is the second-highest record for recovered patients in the region for a single day,” Arjohn Gangoso, acting spokesperson of the Department of Health (DOH) 12 (Soccsksargen), told reporters in an interview Saturday.
Of the total recoveries, South Cotabato topped with 201; followed by General Santos City, 58; North Cotabato, 29; and Sultan Kudarat, 17.
The highest number of recoveries in a single day was logged on June 29, with 382 patients beating the disease across the region.
Meanwhile, Gangoso reported 122 new cases, as of Friday – 64 in General Santos City, 48 in Sultan Kudarat; six in South Cotabato, and four in North Cotabato.
He said the region’s Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 86 percent, representing 21,022 recoveries out of 24,581 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic in March last year.
Active cases are at 2,766 with South Cotabato on top with 962; General Santos City, 581; North Cotabato, 551; Sarangani, 495; and Sultan Kudarat, 177.
The Covid-19 death toll in the region stands at 793.
