Voters’ Registration Resumes in Antipolo City After Special Election

Antipolo: Voters' registration in Antipolo City, Rizal province, is set to resume on Monday, March 23, following an announcement by the Commission on Elections (Comelec). The registration process will continue until May 18, allowing applicants to register from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, even on holidays.

According to Philippines News Agency, Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco outlined that the registration is open not only for new registrants but also for individuals seeking to transfer their voting records, whether within the same locality or from another. The process will also accommodate applications for reactivation, inclusion or reinstatement, correction of entries or change of status, transfer from Foreign Service Post to local, and record updates for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

Laudiangco emphasized the necessity for applicants to present a valid government-issued ID. He specified that certain forms of identification, such as the cedula (community tax certificate), barangay ID or certificate, company ID, and police clearance, will not be accepted by the poll officers.

The voters' registration had been temporarily suspended in Antipolo City due to a special election conducted in the Second District on March 14. This election saw former councilor Philip Acop secure a victory to succeed his father, Romeo Acop, who passed away on December 20, 2025.
