Surigao Norte Cops Arrest 78 in Extensive Anti-Crime Operation

Surigao del norte: Police in Surigao del Norte arrested 78 suspects and seized illegal drugs, fish, lumber, and gambling cash in a three-day anti-crime blitz, officials reported Tuesday. The Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations conducted from November 14-16 resulted in the capture of eight fugitives, among them two individuals classified as “Most Wanted.”

According to Philippines News Agency, Col. Warren Dablo, the provincial police director, stated that the operations led to the confiscation of 15.66 grams of narcotics valued at PHP106,488, along with the arrest of seven suspects involved in drug-related activities. The police intensified their efforts, focusing on various illegal activities within the province.

The operations also targeted fisheries violations, leading to the apprehension of 48 individuals and the seizure of 955.5 kilos of fish. Additionally, 12 suspects were arrested during anti-illegal gambling operations, further showcasing the police’s commitment to curbing illegal activities.

Col. Dablo emphasized that the Surigao del Norte police have intensified their operations as part of an ongoing crackdown on all forms of illegal activity. The comprehensive law enforcement drive reflects the authorities’ determination to maintain peace and order in the region.
