Manila: The southwest monsoon is set to bring rains over Luzon on Saturday, according to the weather bureau.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced in its 4 a.m. bulletin that monsoon rains are expected over the Ilocos Region and the provinces of Apayao, Abra, Zambales, and Bataan. The southwest monsoon will also result in cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rains in these areas could lead to flash floods or landslides. Localized thunderstorms may cause isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over other parts of the country. The entire archipelago is anticipated to experience light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas.
Additionally, heat index levels could peak at 45°C in Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte, with a forecast of 43°C in Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur, and Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
