Zamboanga: The Philippine Coast Guard lifted the suspension of sea voyages in Zamboanga Peninsula and the Bangsamoro provinces of Basilan and Tawi-Tawi on Wednesday as weather conditions improved. The Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao lifted the temporary suspension for all vessels and watercraft plying routes in Basilan, Jolo, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
According to Philippines News Agency, Coast Guard Station Zamboanga del Norte also lifted travel restrictions within its jurisdiction. All seafarers were advised to take precautionary measures should weather conditions change suddenly. The weather bureau said Mindanao would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with occasional rain showers or thunderstorms, with slight to moderate coastal conditions.
The suspension was imposed on Tuesday due to inclement weather from the trough of Typhoon Tino. Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development provided assistance to 11 stranded passengers at the Philippine Ports Authority here Tuesday after their trip to Isabela City in Basilan was canceled.
