San manuel: The National Power Corporation-San Roque dam office terminated water discharge activities on Monday as the water level in the reservoir fell below its 280 meters above sea level (masl) spilling level.
According to Philippines News Agency, flood operation manager Teresa Serra stated that the water level of the dam was at 275.29 masl as of 8 a.m., prompting the termination of water discharge at 8:30 a.m. Despite this, Binga and Ambuklao dams continue to release water into the San Roque Dam.
The San Roque Dam, situated in San Manuel and San Nicolas, Pangasinan, had previously increased the opening of two of its gates to a total of seven meters at 10 a.m. on Sunday. This action was taken to reduce the reservoir’s water to safe levels.
Currently, most river systems in the province are experiencing varying levels, ranging from above normal to below normal. Flooding, which occurred in some areas due to previous weather disturbances, has now receded.
