Remains of 6 PAF Personnel Recovered from Agusan Sur Crash

Loreto: The remains of six Philippine Air Force (PAF) personnel killed in a helicopter crash were recovered Wednesday from the site in Loreto, Agusan del Sur. The Super Huey helicopter from the PAF’s 505th Search and Rescue Group crashed Tuesday in Barangay Sabud while on a mission to areas affected by Typhoon Tino.

According to Philippines News Agency, ‘Our scene of crime operatives and the local police office in Agusan del Sur and Loreto were already at the crash site to help the PAF in the recovery operations, investigations and security,’ said Maj. Jennifer Omiter, PRO-13 information chief. PRO-13 Director Brig. Gen. Marcial Mariano Magistrado IV ordered police to prioritize support for the recovery and investigation.

The Eastern Mindanao Command has not released the names of the six crew members, though their identities were circulating on social media Wednesday. Investigations at the crash site continue.
