PRO-Central Luzon Strengthens LGU Ties to Hit 5-Minute Police Response

Manila: The Police Regional Office-Central Luzon (PRO-3) is intensifying its collaboration with local government units (LGUs) across the region to support the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) ambitious goal of five-minute response time to emergencies. The initiative is anchored on the PNP chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III’s program, which emphasizes swift and responsive public service as a cornerstone of effective policing.

According to Philippines News Agency, Regional Director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Pe±ones Jr. has been leading courtesy visits to provincial, city, and municipal officials to align peace and order strategies, reinforce partnerships, and secure local support for police operations. The engagements have already yielded tangible results. Several LGUs have donated communication equipment and mobility assets to boost police visibility and rapid deployment capabilities, while others have pledged similar assistance in the coming days.

‘We deeply appreciate the unwavering support of our LGUs in helping us meet the Chief PNP’s call for a swift and responsive police service,’ Pe±ones said in a news release over the weekend. ‘These partnerships, built on trust, cooperation, and shared responsibility, are vital in making our communities safer and more secure.’

The courtesy visits have also served as a platform for open dialogue, enabling police and LGU leaders to share insights, address specific community concerns, and develop joint programs tailored to local needs.
