Power Subsidy Benefits 110K Households in Antique

Antique: About 110,000 households in Antique have benefited from the provincial electric power subsidy (PEPS), which is expected to increase further once the master list of beneficiaries is updated or reset next month.

According to Philippines News Agency, through the reset, individuals who have applied for their residential electric connection after December 31, 2025, could already be included in the subsidy. Neal Peter Ve±egas, the general manager of the Antique Electric Cooperative (Anteco), mentioned in an interview that the reset on June 30, 2026, will be the third update and is set to take effect from July to December 2026 billing.

Under the PEPS program, the provincial government provides a PHP500 monthly subsidy for the electric bills of Antique households. The initiative was first implemented in 2025 to offer relief to households struggling with their electric bills. The master list of beneficiaries was previously updated twice in 2025, on June 30 and December 31.

Ve±egas highlighted the necessity of continually updating the beneficiary list due to the increasing number of applications from residential houses. However, he noted that Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) household beneficiaries and those benefiting from the Expanded Lifeline Rate Subsidy are excluded from the PEPS.
