Guiguinto: The Philippine National Police (PNP) has assured an airtight case against two suspects involved in the fatal shooting of Police M/Sgt. Jose Uring in Guiguinto, Bulacan. The incident occurred on Sunday during a Brooklyn Heights Homeowners Association meeting, where Uring, aged 50, served as president.
According to Philippines News Agency, the suspects were apprehended in a coordinated hot pursuit operation on Monday in Bulakan and Obando towns. One of the suspects is a dismissed police officer who was formerly assigned to the Obando Police Station, along with his cohort. The PNP has gathered evidence, interviewed witnesses, and prepared charges of murder and frustrated homicide against the two.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. praised the police teams for their prompt and professional response. "We will ensure that the case is pursued diligently in court. Hindi lang mabilis ang aksyon kundi matibay din ang ebidensya laban sa mga suspek (Not just fast action but strong evidence against the suspects)," he stated.
The PNP leadership also committed to ongoing coordination with the victim's family to facilitate benefits and other support. In addition, Gen. Nartatez reminded police personnel to maintain professionalism and respect in their interactions with the public, emphasizing that there would be consequences for any rudeness or mishandling of requests for assistance.
"The PNP has no room for grumpy and arrogant personnel. As government workers, efficient public service anchored on professionalism and respect is a daily requirement," Gen. Nartatez emphasized in a separate statement.
