Antipolo: The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Thursday reminded members of vulnerable sectors that they may avail of early voting during the special election for the 2nd District of Antipolo City on Saturday.
According to Philippines News Agency, Comelec Chairman George Garcia announced through a social media post that early voting will be accessible to senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and pregnant women on March 14. He specified that these groups are permitted to vote from 5:00 to 7:00 in the morning.
Garcia further explained that voters from these vulnerable groups can still cast their ballots during regular voting hours, which commence at 7 a.m. and are expected to conclude in the afternoon. "We are expecting, again, the end of voting is at 3:00 p.m.," Garcia noted.
The special election in the 2nd District of Antipolo City aims to elect a new member of the House of Representatives. This election follows the passing of Rep. Romeo Acop on December 20, 2025, and six candidates have entered the race: Bong Acop, Dandin Infante, Reden Llaga, Maria Trinidad Cafirma, Nathaniel Lobigas, and Irvin Paulo Tapales.
