Bulacan: The Philippine National Police (PNP) has mobilized all available resources to resolve the killing of a policewoman in Bulacan and locate her missing eight-year-old son. In a statement Thursday, PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. ordered the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and the Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 (Central Luzon) to prioritize the case as he emphasized the urgency of identifying the suspects behind the death of Senior M/Sgt. Diane Marie Mollenido and ensuring the safe recovery of her son.
According to Philippines News Agency, Mollenido, who was assigned at the NCRPO's Regional Personnel and Records Management Division, went missing on Jan. 16 and was found dead on Jan. 25 in a creek along Pulilan-Baliuag Bypass Road in Bulacan. A Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) was created to handle the case, the PNP said.
Investigators, it added, are gathering CCTV footage and consolidating reports from multiple agencies as the investigation continues. "Our priority right now is the safe recovery of her son. Our personnel are actively conducting search and rescue in coordination with local government units and other agencies concerned. We urge anyone with information to come forward immediately," Nartatez said.
