PDEA Seizes PHP3.4 Million Worth of Shabu, Arrests Two in Maguindanao Sur

Maguindanao: Anti-narcotics agents seized suspected shabu valued at PHP3.4 million and arrested two suspected big-time illegal drug pushers in Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur on Monday, officials said Tuesday.

According to Philippines News Agency, Edgar T. Jubay, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) director in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), stated that the buy-bust operation was conducted by personnel of the Maguindanao provincial police and the 90th Infantry Battalion. The operation took place in Barangay Kauran, Ampatuan at 3 p.m. on Monday.

Jubay reported that the operating troops confiscated about 500 grams of suspected shabu, which has an estimated street value of PHP3.4 million.

The male suspects, aged 40 and 43, both residents of Barangay Kauran, are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
