PCA to Complete Distribution of 125,000 Coconut Seedlings to Antique Farmers by February

Antique: The Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) is set to complete the distribution of 125,000 coconut seedlings to farmers in the province of Antique by February. This initiative supports the administration's goal of planting 100 million coconut trees by 2028.

According to Philippines News Agency, PCA-Antique Agriculturist II Joy Lyn Gaitan reported that 112,870 seedlings, accounting for 90 percent of the target, have already been distributed to 1,133 farmers since November 2025. The distribution is part of the PCA's Coconut Planting and Replanting Project, which targets farmers registered with the National Coconut Farmers Registry System and owning one hectare or less of coconut farmland.

Antique is home to 53,000 registered coconut farmers, who are receiving seedlings such as Laguna Tall, Aromatic Green Dwarf, and Green Tacunan Dwarf, which can bear fruit within three years. In addition to seedlings, Gaitan noted that 10,390 bags of fertilizers have been distributed to support farmers with bearing coconut plants, with each farmer receiving two sacks for a half-hectare farm.

Farmers and their associations interested in this assistance can coordinate with the PCA to benefit from the distribution program.
