Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has called on government-owned and -controlled corporations (GOCCs) to enhance their services by adopting modern technology and reducing bureaucratic inefficiencies. Speaking at the 2025 GOCCs’ Day in Malaca±ang, Marcos emphasized the importance of efficiency and transparency alongside fiscal contributions.
According to Philippines News Agency, Marcos challenged GOCCs to invest in technology and streamline processes to ensure that Filipinos have easier and fairer access to services. He commended the PHP116.8 billion in dividends remitted as of September but highlighted the necessity of maintaining public trust through accountability.
The President stressed the importance of directing dividend collections toward initiatives with a long-term impact, aiming to promote genuine reforms that improve quality of life and benefit future generations. He urged GOCCs to embody integrity, excellence, and service, serving as a source of national pride both domestically and internationally.
