Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed lawyer Anna Liza Logan as the new Chief Presidential Legal Counsel, Malaca±ang announced on Tuesday. Logan takes over from the former Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile, who passed away on November 13 at the age of 101.
According to Philippines News Agency, Logan previously held the position of Deputy Executive Secretary for Legal Affairs. She has significant experience in civil and criminal litigation, family, labor, and human settlements adjudication commission cases. Her expertise extends to corporate and commercial practice for financial technology companies, real estate development entities, and non-governmental organizations. Logan has been associated with several law firms, including Logan Masukat Ronulo Huang, Marcos Ochoa Serapio and Tan, and Agabin Verzola Hermoso Layaoen and De Castro.
The announcement also included the appointments of lawyers Maria Luwalhati Dorotan Tiuseco and Danielle Marie Rieza-Culangen as Senior Deputy Executive Secretary and Deputy Executive Secretary for General Administration, respectively. Joseph Irvin Obenza was named Deputy Executive Secretary for Financial Affairs. In addition, lawyers Jesse Hermogenes Andres, Erwin Sta. Ana, and Alemar Mosquito will join the Office of the Executive Secretary, serving as Deputy Executive Secretary, Undersecretary for Economic Affairs, and Assistant Secretary, respectively, as stated by Castro.
