Manila:The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reopened the northbound lane of the Pasig Boulevard-C5 Flyover on Monday noon.
According to Philippines News Agency, DPWH Secretary Giovanni 'Banoy' Lopez stated that the finishing works were completed in time to ensure a safe journey for vacationers returning to Metro Manila after the Undas holidays. Lopez, along with Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon, inspected the road reblocking efforts on the EDSA inner lanes, which stretch from Nepa Q-Mart in Cubao, Quezon City, to Guadalupe, Makati.
Lopez highlighted that these repairs are part of the ongoing EDSA Rehabilitation Project Phase 2. He also announced that the southbound lane of the flyover is set to reopen early Tuesday morning, emphasizing the department's commitment to road readiness for returning motorists.
Motorists are advised to adhere to road safety measures and traffic signages while exercising caution on the flyover. Lopez mentioned that the repairs were strategically timed during the long weekend for the safety of all motorists.
Additionally, the DPWH opened the EDSA Busway on Monday morning. The busway work commenced on October 30, with the team working continuously to reopen the lanes by November 2. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has directed the continuation and expedited reopening of the EDSA rehabilitation sections to facilitate smooth travel for those returning from provincial Undas observances.
The ongoing EDSA rehabilitation, initiated in December 2025 under the direction of former Secretary and current DOTr chief Dizon, aims to benefit motorists, commuters, pedestrians, and cyclists through improved highway infrastructure.
