P6.9-M Shabu Seized, Drug Suspect Nabbed in Camarines Norte

Labo: The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) apprehended a high-value drug suspect and seized PHP6.9 million worth of shabu during an anti-illegal drug operation in Labo, Camarines Norte. The operation took place on Wednesday, leading to the arrest of a suspect identified as “Rich,” a 33-year-old resident of Labo, Camarines Norte.

According to Philippines News Agency, PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Andrei Dizon reported that the operation was carried out by the Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit (PPDEU) and Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), in collaboration with the Labo Municipal Police Station (MPS). The suspect was found in possession of 1,020 grams of shabu, with an estimated street value of PHP6.9 million.

The suspect is currently held at the local police station and is set to face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Brig. Gen. Dizon emphasized that the PRO-5 remains committed to its anti-drug campaign.

“Our commitment to a drug-free Bicol is unwavering. We will pursue offenders anytime, anywhere, to ensure the safety and security of our communities,” he stated.
