Iloilo city: Police seized PHP102.4 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 593 drug suspects in 487 operations in Iloilo City from January to August, the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) said Tuesday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the operations resulted in the confiscation of 15,062 grams of shabu and 98.5 grams of marijuana, as detailed in an ICPO report released Tuesday afternoon. Among those arrested, 162 were classified as high-value individuals, 413 as street-level individuals, seven as not listed, and 11 were arrested by virtue of warrants.

ICPO Director Col. Wilbert Parilla stated that police will continue their anti-drug operations against individuals involved in illegal drug activities. Parilla emphasized that their accomplishments not only reflect operational efforts but also the cooperation of the community and the lives they help protect. He asserted that their campaign remains relentless, with no limitations, whether during holidays or ordinary days.

Parilla credited community cooperation for aiding police efforts against illegal drugs, highlighting its importance in achieving these results.
