Manila: An OCTA Research survey released on Thursday showed that trust and satisfaction ratings of the House of Representatives (HOR) slightly increased in the second quarter. Trust in the HOR rose to 38 percent in April to June this year from 36 percent in the previous three months. Satisfaction also increased to 37 percent from 35 percent in Q1.

According to Philippines News Agency, distrust in the HOR has declined from 33 percent to 28 percent, and dissatisfaction from 35 percent to 32 percent. The survey was conducted from July 4-11, participated in by 1,200 adults. Nationwide, 38 percent of the respondents trust the HOR, while 28 percent distrust it and 33 percent were undecided.

Trust in the HOR was highest in the Visayas at 42 percent, followed by Balance Luzon at 40 percent, Mindanao at 37 percent, and National Capital Region (NCR) at 29 percent. Distrust was highest in NCR at 47 percent, while undecided responses are highest in Balance Luzon at 38 percent.

Across socioeconomic classes, trust in the HOR was highest among Class E respondents at 47 percent, followed by Class ABC at 37 percent and Class D at 36 percent. Distrust was highest among Class ABC at 32 percent, followed by Class D at 30 percent, and Class E at 17 percent. Undecided responses range from 30 percent among Class ABC to 35 percent among Class E, the OCTA said.

Meanwhile, the survey has a margin of error of ±3 percent at a 95 percent confidence level. Subnational estimates for the geographic areas covered in the survey have the following margins of error at a 95 percent confidence level: ±6 percent for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
