Berlin: Filipino pole vaulter Ernest John "EJ" Obiena delivered another gold performance at the ISTAF Berlin, clearing 5.82 meters to beat Belgian Ylio Philtjens and French Robin Emig, who both registered 5.72 meters.

The two-time Olympian has already qualified for the 2027 World Championships despite securing a fifth-place finish with a 5.90-meter jump at the Diamond League leg in Zurich, Switzerland, on August 28.
Obiena achieved a season-best performance of 5.91 meters to clinch the gold medal at the Golden Sand outdoor pole vault event in Miedzyzdroje, Poland, on August 17. Meanwhile, the 2022 Asian Games champion is aiming for another gold medal on Tuesday at the 4th Domspringen Wesel event, which was won by Emig with a 5.76-meter jump last year.
