Malaca±ang: Malaca±ang has announced that there will be no medical bulletin regarding President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s health, stating that his diagnosis of diverticulitis, an inflammation of small pouches in the colon, is not considered life-threatening. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro addressed reporters, explaining that medical bulletins are typically reserved for serious illnesses.
According to Philippines News Agency, Castro emphasized that the Palace has been consistently updating the public on the President's health condition. She questioned the necessity of a medical bulletin given that the President himself has assured the public that his condition is not severe. Castro advised against believing unverified social media claims suggesting that the President's health has deteriorated due to drug use.
Castro urged the public to be cautious of fabricated stories about the President's health, highlighting that he continues to fulfill his official duties. She clarified that information from unknown sources should be treated with skepticism, as it is likely to be inaccurate.
Despite medical advice to rest, President Marcos remains active, attending events and conducting private meetings. Castro noted that while the President has been advised to relax, he continues to engage in official activities, indicating an improvement in his health.
Acting Secretary of the Presidential Communications Office, Dave Gomez, mentioned that President Marcos may assign Cabinet members to represent him at public engagements while he prioritizes key presidential responsibilities.
