NNIC Prepares for 1.25 Million Travellers at NAIA During Undas Season

Manila:Around 1.25 million passengers are expected to pass through Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) from October 27 to November 4, marking an increase from the 1.24 million during the same period in 2025.

According to Philippines News Agency, the San Miguel Corp-led New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) anticipates the highest volume of travelers on October 30, with approximately 149,000 people expected. In response to this influx, the NNIC plans to enhance security measures and improve coordination with airlines, ground handlers, transport providers, and government agencies.

A 24-hour command center at Terminal 2 will be established to facilitate coordination and incident response, enabling airport teams and government agencies to promptly address any operational disruptions. Increased police patrols will be deployed at terminal entrances, curbside areas, and parking facilities, alongside K-9 patrols and stricter access controls. Additional immigration, customs, and quarantine counters will be available during peak periods.

Furthermore, public assistance desks will operate around the clock at the arrival and departure areas of all three terminals. To manage the expected increase in traffic, additional traffic marshals and porters will be deployed, and more baggage carts will be made available.

On the airside, the NNIC will ensure close coordination of aircraft parking arrangements to accommodate additional or unscheduled flights, thereby minimizing delays. Operations teams will monitor aircraft movements, baggage handling, and congestion at terminal entrances, check-in counters, and boarding gates. They will work with airlines and ground handlers to address any bottlenecks and flight disruptions.
