New PNR Route from Naga City to Lupi Viejo Set to Launch in November

Naga city: The Philippine National Railways (PNR) is about to expand its reach with the introduction of a new route connecting Naga City to Lupi Viejo in Camarines Sur, which is scheduled to commence operations on November 5.

According to Philippines News Agency, PNR General Manager Deovanni Miranda announced that the travel time for commuters on this new route will be approximately one hour and 39 minutes. This duration is notably shorter compared to other modes of transportation, which typically take nearly two hours. Miranda emphasized the ongoing efforts to enhance PNR’s infrastructure to ensure that public transportation remains affordable, safe, and efficient for commuters.

The new route will serve passengers with pick-up and drop-off stations located in Lupi Viejo, Sipocot, Libmanan, Pamplona, and Naga. Additionally, flag stops will be available at Lupi Nuevo/Tapi, Malaguico, Azucena, Awayan, Mantalisay, Camambugan, Rongos, Malansad, Mambulo, Borabod, and Sampaloc.

The train service will operate three times daily. From Naga to Lupi Viejo, the departure times are 4:29 a.m., 9:49 a.m., and 3:14 p.m., while the return trips from Lupi Viejo to Naga will depart at 6:23 a.m., 11:43 a.m., and 5:08 p.m.

The fare structure for the new route is set with regular prices ranging from PHP15 to PHP75. Discounted fares will be available for students, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens, with prices starting from PHP12 to PHP60.
