Pasay City:Opposite hitter Mylene Paat-Rezanova has been named the Press Corps Player of the Week after leading Farm Fresh to a victory over Choco Mucho in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference Siklab Series. The match, held at the Mall of Asia Arena, saw Rezanova score 15 points as the Foxies overcame the Flying Titans in a thrilling five-set battle, with scores of 20-25, 26-28, 25-23, 25-23, and 15-13.
According to Philippines News Agency, the 32-year-old Rezanova entered the season with a determination to impart her experience and foster growth within the Farm Fresh team. Her positive mindset and emphasis on teamwork played a crucial role in the team's performance, particularly during the intense fifth set.
Rezanova expressed her gratitude and emotional connection to her teammates, highlighting the trust and unity that surfaced during the match. "Actually, siguro 'yung pagiging positive mindset ko and kada set talaga sinasabi ko kailangan naming magtulong-tulong, pagkatiwalaan namin 'yung bawat isa, especially nung umabot kami sa fifth set," she stated, reflecting on the importance of mutual support and confidence among the players.
In the decisive set, Farm Fresh relied on their composure and collective belief rather than succumbing to the pressure, which enabled them to level with Choco Mucho at 2-1, trailing only behind unbeaten teams Creamline and Nxled. Rezanova's outstanding performance earned her the weekly accolade over notable players such as Creamline's Pangs Panaga, Farm Fresh's Trisha Tubu, and others from various teams in the league.
Farm Fresh is set to compete against Akari on October 27 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila, where they aim to continue their winning momentum.
