Mindanao Army Division Vows to Remain Neutral

Mindanao: The Army’s 6th Infantry Division (6ID) reaffirmed its mandate to remain apolitical and defend the Constitution on Monday (Nov. 17, 2025). Maj. Gen. Vladimir Cagara, 6ID commander, issued the statement amid protest rallies in Metro Manila.

According to Philippines News Agency, Maj. Gen. Vladimir Cagara emphasized that the 6th Infantry ‘Kampilan’ Division supports the Philippine Army and the Armed Forces of the Philippines in their role as a professional and non-partisan defender of the Constitution and democratic values. Cagara highlighted the division’s commitment to maintaining integrity and respecting civilian authority.

Cagara reiterated the 6ID’s support for the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ dedication to integrity, unity, and respect for civilian authority. He further acknowledged the public’s right to peaceful assembly, advising organizers to prioritize participant safety.

Additionally, Cagara called on citizens to uphold unity and collaborate on recovery efforts following recent calamities. The 6ID, headquartered in Camp Siongco, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte, oversees the two Maguindanao provinces, Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato, and parts of Sarangani and North Cotabato.
