Manila: Letran secured a 17-25, 25-13, 25-13, 25-13 victory against longtime rival San Beda University on Tuesday, maintaining their unbeaten record in the NCAA Season 101 women's volleyball tournament at San Andres Sports Complex.
According to Philippines News Agency, Judiel Nitura led the Lady Knights with 22 points, while Vanessa Sarie and Gia Maquilang added 14 points each, propelling the team to their fourth consecutive win in Group B. Angel Mae Habacon contributed 12 points for the Lady Red Spikers, who are now in second place with a 3-1 record.
Arellano University holds third place with a 1-2 record, followed by Lyceum of the Philippines at 1-3, and Emilio Aguinaldo College at 0-3.
In a separate match, College of St. Benilde secured a victory over Jose Rizal University, 25-15, 25-18, 25-18, improving their standing to 3-1 and taking second place in Group A. Zam Nolasco was the top scorer for the Lady Blazers with 20 points, with Camila Bartolome contributing 12 points and Chenae Basarte achieving 23 excellent sets.
Czarina Ramos scored 18 points for the Lady Bombers, who have faced their fourth consecutive loss. University of Perpetual leads the Group A standings with a 4-0 record, followed by Mapua University in third place with a 2-1 record, and San Sebastian College-Recoletos with a 1-3 record.
