Mandaluyong city: Arellano University emerged victorious against the College of Saint Benilde with a scoreline of 19-25, 25-17, 34-32, 16-25, 15-7, maintaining their undefeated streak in the V-League Collegiate Challenge at Gameville Central Park on Saturday.

According to Philippines News Agency, Samantha Gabrielle Tiratira led the charge for the Lady Chiefs with 13 points, supported by Crisanta Servidad and Catherine Chu, who each contributed 12 points. The Lady Chiefs demonstrated resilience, especially in the decisive fifth set, clinching the match after a two-hour battle.

Princess Nicole Al-ag added 10 points to the Lady Chiefs' tally, while Catherine Domasig made significant contributions with seven points, including two crucial blocks and two aces.

Reflecting on the victory, Arellano head coach Obet Javer expressed satisfaction, stating, "We are absolutely thrilled. After all, we went up against a top-caliber NCAA team earlier. You could say that the effort we put in over the past few days really paid off." Javer emphasized the importance of determination in the final set, noting, "I just reminded them why they lost the fourth set... and heading into the fifth, I told them that if they wanted to win, they had to work for it, or else it would all go to waste."

Looking ahead, Arellano is set to face the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA on September 5. Meanwhile, the Lady Blazers, despite strong performances by Mary Grace Borromeo and Camila Bartolome, who each scored 18 points, and Fionna Innocentes with 16 points, will seek redemption against Adamson on September 6, after suffering their second loss in three outings.
