Iloilo city: Iloilo City Lone District Rep. Julienne Baronda said she chose not to engage in falsehood and will instead pray for truth and fairness to prevail. The lady solon made the statement after her name was among those mentioned by a former Marine as recipients of suitcases filled with money from former Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co.

According to Philippines News Agency, Baronda stated that her name was never mentioned in the inquiries conducted by the House of Representatives, the Senate, or by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure. This commission was established to investigate the anomalies in the implementation of government flood control and other infrastructure projects in the country.

Baronda expressed her belief that her name was dragged into this political controversy due to her association with a local personality who was critical of the previous administration and who is assisting her in navigating local politics. She trusts in the discernment and wisdom of the Ilonggo people to see matters clearly and make judgments based on truth.
