Iloilo city: The local government of Iloilo City is set to implement stringent measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the 2025 Philippine Bar Exams, scheduled for September 7, 10, and 14 at the Central Philippine University (CPU), one of the designated local testing centers across the country.
According to Philippines News Agency, Mayor Raisa Tre±as issued three Executive Orders (EOs) to address various logistical and environmental concerns. These orders include the formation of a coordinating committee for the Iloilo site, regulation of ambient noise, and a ban on the sale and public consumption of alcohol around the CPU vicinity.
EO No. 57 specifically targets the sale and consumption of liquor, prohibiting any form of alcoholic beverages within a 500-meter radius of the CPU from midnight of September 6, 9, and 13 until 11:59 p.m. on September 7, 10, and 14. This measure is aimed at maintaining a conducive environment for examinees.
Additionally, EO No. 58 encourages establishments within the designated radius to minimize unnecessary noise. Contractors involved in engineering and maintenance works are also requested to defer activities that could generate disturbances during the exam period. The use of videoke machines, wireless microphones, and similar noise-producing equipment is specifically banned to prevent disruptions.
EO No. 59 establishes a coordinating committee led by Mayor Tre±as and City Administrator Melchor Tan. This committee includes members from various city and national government offices and focuses on facilitating coordination in areas such as security, traffic management, health protocols, disaster risk management, and public information.
