Butuan city: Inflation in the Caraga Region rose to 1.5 percent in October, up from 1.3 percent in September, the Philippine Statistics Authority reported Wednesday (Nov. 19, 2025). Housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels were the primary contributors to this increase, with a significant 6.7 percent inflation rate, making up 75.9 percent of the overall rise.
According to Philippines News Agency, restaurants and accommodation services recorded an inflation rate of 4.1 percent, while the transport sector saw a 2.0 percent increase. Within the transport sector, air transport fares experienced a substantial surge of 54.7 percent.
In terms of specific locations, Butuan City posted the highest inflation rate at 4.9 percent. In contrast, Surigao del Sur and Dinagat Islands experienced deflation, with rates of -0.8 percent and -0.5 percent, respectively. Overall, the Caraga Region has recorded an average inflation rate of 0.9 percent from January to October this year.
