High-Value Drug Suspect Captured in Camarines Sur, PHP1 Million Worth of Shabu Seized

Camarines sur: The regional police reported the arrest of a high-value individual and the seizure of suspected shabu valued at more than PHP1 million during a buy-bust operation in Camarines Sur on Saturday. Police Regional Office - Bicol Director Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio said the operation, conducted in Barangay Pawili in Bula town, resulted in the arrest of a 46-year-old suspect identified as 'Neil,' a high-value individual allegedly involved in illegal drug activities.

According to Philippines News Agency, recovered from him were 150 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of PHP1,020,000. Before the operation, law enforcement personnel conducted intelligence-gathering and surveillance activities to verify the suspect's alleged involvement in illegal drug activities and establish the necessary information for the conduct of the operation.

Silvio said the buy-bust operation shows the importance of sustained intelligence work, close coordination among law enforcement units, and timely police action in addressing the illegal drug problem. The arrested suspect was taken to the Bula Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition. The confiscated illegal drugs and other recovered evidence will be turned over to the Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination and appropriate processing.

The suspect will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
