GSIS Touch App Surpasses 2 Million Users, Sets Digital Service Milestone

Manila: The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) announced on Wednesday that its mobile application, GSIS Touch, reached a major milestone, surpassing 2 million registered users, representing a significant portion of its more than 2.7 million members and pensioners.

According to Philippines News Agency, this achievement marks another success in the state pension fund’s digital transformation journey, which has led to the 99.6-percent digitalization of its frontline services. “Reaching 2 million users for GSIS Touch is a clear signal that we are on the right track with our digital-first approach,” GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso said in a news release. “This milestone represents two million members who can now get the help they need without leaving their homes nor wait in line,” he added.

Launched in 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the GSIS Touch app has evolved into a comprehensive, 24/7 paperless service platform offering members secure access to benefits and loan applications through advanced facial recognition and digital ID verification. The app allows members and pensioners to apply for emergency loans, file claims, and track their transactions in real time, eliminating the need for in-person visits.

By mid-2025, the majority of GSIS loan applications and service requests were already being processed through the app, reducing processing time by up to 77 percent. The app’s growing popularity and innovation have earned GSIS both local and international recognition, including being a finalist at the 2025 World Pensions and Investments Excellence and Innovation Awards and receiving honors at the ASEAN Social Security Recognition Awards.

Reinforcing its success, GSIS was also a top performer in the 2025 Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) Report Card Survey, achieving a perfect 100-percent compliance rating across all surveyed branches. At a recent flag-raising ceremony, ARTA Executive Director Ernesto Perez lauded GSIS’s commitment to efficient and people-centered governance. “GSIS is one of the best performers in our ARTA Report Card Survey, proof that real reform is possible when service comes with heart,” Perez said.
