Manila: Fair weather with isolated rain showers is expected across the country on Sunday, while Severe Tropical Storm Sinlaku remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and is not expected to affect the country, the weather bureau said. In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sinlaku was last spotted 2,770 km east-northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon, moving northeastward at 25 kph.
According to Philippines News Agency, the storm has maximum sustained winds of 95 kph and gustiness of up to 110 kph but is already weakening and moving away from the country. PAGASA said the ridge of a high pressure area extending over Northern Luzon will continue to bring generally fair weather conditions.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. PAGASA, however, warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, moderate winds and coastal waters will prevail over the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, while the rest of the country will have slight to moderate sea conditions. Temperatures recorded ranged from 23.8°C to 35.1°C.
PAGASA advised the public to remain alert for sudden thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon or evening.
