Manila:The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has reopened the northbound lane of the Pasig Boulevard-C5 Flyover on Monday noon. This development comes as part of efforts to facilitate the return of vacationers to Metro Manila following the Undas holidays.
According to Philippines News Agency, DPWH Secretary Giovanni 'Banoy' Lopez stated that the necessary finishing works have been completed to ensure the safety of travelers. Both Lopez and Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon conducted inspections on the road reblocking works along EDSA, from Nepa Q-Mart in Cubao, Quezon City, to Guadalupe, Makati. These repairs are part of the EDSA Rehabilitation Project Phase 2.
Lopez announced that the southbound lane of the flyover will be reopened early Tuesday morning. He emphasized the importance of road readiness for motorists returning from the provinces and urged all motorists to observe road safety measures and traffic signages while exercising caution on the flyover.
The DPWH also opened the EDSA Busway on Monday morning. Work on the busway began on October 30, with efforts to ensure that the lanes were reopened by November 2. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has directed the continuation of the EDSA rehabilitation to ensure smooth travel for those returning from various provinces after the Undas observance.
This ongoing rehabilitation project, initiated in December 2025, aims to benefit motorists, commuters, pedestrians, and cyclists, providing improved highway conditions and enhancing overall transportation efficiency.
