Davao City Ranks Among Top LGUs in Local Revenue

Davao city: Davao City has been named one of the top-performing local government units (LGUs) in locally sourced revenue for Fiscal Year 2024, the city government announced Wednesday. The Department of Finance – Bureau of Local Government Finance recognized the city in its Memorandum Circular 017-2025 for strengthening local government finance.

According to Philippines News Agency, the city remained in the Top 10 nationwide, recording PHP6.84 billion in locally sourced revenue, an increase from PHP6.67 billion in 2023. “The fact that the city maintained its spot as one of the top-performing cities in the country on local source revenues shows that the city has been consistent in its efforts to achieve and surpass its target collection, made possible by the contribution of all Dabawenyo taxpayers,” City Treasurer Lawrence Bantiding said.

He stated that the city’s collection has increased steadily each year, with business taxes as the primary contributor. Other recognized cities were Quezon City, Makati City, Taguig City, Pasig City, Manila City, Para±aque City, Pasay City, Mandaluyong City, and Cebu City.

As of September, the city’s total revenue collection reached PHP12 billion, with 46.63 percent from business taxes and 18.15 percent from real property taxes.
