Manila: Nxled and Akari are gearing up for significant clashes in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Saturday. Nxled, which narrowly missed an outright entry into the Qualifying Round, is set to face the Galeries Tower side at 4 p.m.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Chameleons will depend on the skills of Brooke Van Sickle, Myla Pablo, and MJ Phillips, while the High Risers will place their hopes on Jean Asis, Roselle Baliton, Aiza Pontillas, and Gayle Pascual. Galeries Tower head coach Clarence Esteban commented on their season, emphasizing the lack of camaraderie among players, stating, "All throughout this season, we didn't do that badly. We just lacked camaraderie, our players got to know each other. Maybe, we would have done better if that happened to our team."
The Akari Chargers, featuring Ivy Lacsina, Eli Soyud, and Grethcel Soltones, will compete against the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in another knockout game at 6:30 p.m. Sisi Rondina, representing Choco Mucho along with Eya Laure and Kat Tolentino, expressed accountability for their current standing, asserting, "Of course, we also thought that we were responsible for why we were here. So, that's all we did, which was work, and we still love it... And we will still insist that we still get into what we want to happen to our team."
Winners of these matchups will proceed to face the Farm Fresh Foxies and the Creamline Cool Smashers to determine the final two semifinalists on April 7. Sister teams PLDT and Cignal secured the first two semifinal spots last Thursday. The league has announced a Holy Week break from March 29 to April 5.
