Cebu Pacific to Increase Seat Capacity on Domestic Routes with A330neo

Manila: Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) is set to double the seat capacity for flights to Bohol, Iloilo, and Puerto Princesa by deploying the 459-seater A330neo aircraft on these routes in the coming months. This strategic move aims to accommodate the growing demand for air travel, particularly as the holiday season approaches.

According to Philippines News Agency, CEB currently operates A320 and A321 aircraft for these domestic destinations, accommodating up to 180 and 236 seats, respectively. The introduction of the widebody A330neo is expected to offer more seats, lower fares, and an improved travel experience. CEB President Xander Lao emphasized the importance of this expansion, stating that increasing capacity on key domestic routes will not only make travel more accessible but also boost tourism and stimulate economic activity, creating opportunities for local communities and supporting the growth of Philippine tourism.

The airline announced that the A330neo will be used for flights between Manila and Iloilo seven times weekly starting October 26, and between Manila and Puerto Princesa four times weekly beginning November 2. Additionally, the larger aircraft will serve the Manila to Bohol route seven times weekly starting November 16.

CEB, which considers itself the largest operator of A330neo aircraft in Asia Pacific with 12 aircraft of this kind, highlights the flexibility of the A330neo in serving regional, long-haul, and busy domestic routes while maintaining cost-efficiency. The Gokongwei-led airline already employs A330neo aircraft for flights to Cebu, Davao, and General Santos, as well as several destinations across Asia, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates.
