PUTRAJAYA,, An individual with the title ‘Datuk’ is among three people detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for allegedly accepting nearly RM110 million in bribes related to a housing project. ISTANBUL: US-based coffeehouse chain Starbucks saw its sales decrease for the second consecutive quarter, according to its financial results statement released Tuesday. “Global comparable store sales declined 3 percent, driven by a 5 percent decline in comparable transactions, partially offset by a 2 percent increase in average ticket,” it said. BACOLOD CITY: At least 81 families were left homeless when a fire struck early past 3 a.m. Wednesday in Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2 in this city. This is the second fire incident in the coastal community in only five months after 13 homes were also razed last February, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said. At least 73 houses were damaged by the fire that reportedly started from the house of Monaliza Magbanua. Eight others were considered partially damaged.
